which
aims:
1) To draw attention to the high creative potential of the many
visually-dominant dyslexic minds.
2) To help to bridge the gulf of misunderstanding that often exists between
those who think
most easily in words and those who those who prefer to think visually.
3) To encourage research into the reasons for the connection between dyslexia
and good
visual-spatial faculties which can lead to exceptional ability and achievement
in the arts and sciences.
Above all, we want to persuade more people to appreciate the importance of
visual-spatial thinking in every creative activity, and to use their own
visual-spatial thinking capacity more effectively.
This ability to think in visual terms is a valuable specific attribute of the
human brain which we all possess to a greater or lesser extent according to our
genetic make-up. We want to encourage everyone to recognize and develop it both
for their own practical purposes and enjoyment, and also for the insight it can
give into all those world problems that so urgently need solution.
The Trust provides an advisory service for educationalists and others concerned
with the above questions, and offers practical help to dyslexic students and
adults in their art/design training and careers.
